Gala Evening – May 4th, 2013

Bright blue sky. 25 degrees.  Seemingly endless views of water.  A beautiful, comfortable lounge.  This was the setting for our gala event on Saturday, May 4th in the Wardroom at CFB Esquimalt (thanks to Roger Girouard for his sponsorship of this!).  Our guests had a relaxing, fun evening with great food and entertainment.  With special thanks to Krista Hagstrom, our Millstream Club Coordintaor, and Colton McKee who made a video detailing his experiences as a participant and later as a staff person, our guests also learned a lot more about Boys & Girls Clubs and the wonderful services we offer to children and youth in our community.  We extend our thanks to the Dana Parkes, our Harbourside Club coordinator and the children she brought with her to greet our guests when they arrived.  It was a lovely evening and one of the highlights was the entertainment provided by our auctioneer, Iain Hooey.  He worked the crowd and we received good value for the great auction items we had.  All in all, it was a successful evening which was a wonderful way to cap a week of uncertainty leading up to it after the devastating news we received regarding the Orca Spirit II.  Thank you to all our sponsors and guests and of course the organizing committee with Cheryl d’Estrubé leading the charge!
