For more than 100 years, Boys and Girls Clubs in communities across Canada have helped young people discover, develop and achieve their potential as Canada's future adults, citizens and leaders. Clubs engage them in activities that challenge them to develop healthy minds and bodies. Visit Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada's website.

Mad Hatter's Ball (click for more information!)

“I’m late, I’m late, for a very important date! No time to say hello, goodbye…”      “It must be awfully important, like a party or something”, said Alice.

“No, no, no, I’m overdue, I’m really in a stew, not time to say goodbye, hello, I’m really, really late!”, said the White Rabbit to Alice as he read his pocket watch and ran along the woodland path and entered his burrow.

Don’t be the like the White Rabbit and be late for Boys and Girls Clubs’ new, ‘fun’ raising event – the Mad Hatter’s Ball!  With themes from Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland adding a unique element to the gala offerings in Victoria, we believe we have got a winner on our hands!

Youth United Anti-Bullying Film Festival

Youth United Anti Bullying Film Festival 2017

In February 2012 Boys & Girls Club Services of Greater Victoria in conjunction with members of Victoria's Community Centre Network (CCN) launched a film festival contest designed to engage local youth and teens in educating their peers and the wider community about the negative impact of bullying.  Due to the tremendous success of this event and support from local organizations and community partners, the CCN decided to make this into an annual event.  2017 will mark Victoria’s sixth annual Youth United Anti-Bullying Film Festival.

Wild About Whales

Grinning rubber whales and smiling children were the stars of our Wild About Whales derby on June 15th. We were glad to see so many people come out from grandparents to parents, teens to children. Everyone had a great time with the sea themed children’s activities and enjoyed delicious food at the concession stand. We are proud and excited to announce that we raised almost $27,000 through our Wild About Whales activities this year! Thanks to everyone who supported us, from our dedicated committee and our amazing volunteers, to our generous sponsors and prize and auction item donors, to the kind community members who purchased tickets. We couldn’t have done it without you! To find out if your ticket was a winner, click here!

Teen Expo

On Saturday April 27th, we were delighted to have four of our staff participate in Victoria’s first ever Teen Expo! Ellie, Kyla, Krista and Jan were on hand to showcase the many wonderful programs that we offer to children, youth, teens and parents in the Greater Victoria area. Victoria’s Teen Expo served to connect youth with each other, their peers, and their communities, and provided parents with the chance to learn a bit more about what Vancouver Island has to offer for their youth.

2013 AGM

On May 29, over sixty staff, care homes, participants and members of the community joined together at our Annual General Meeting to celebrate the successes that BGC has had over the past year. The business of the meeting was conducted quickly, which gave us more time to enjoy the engaging speakers. Many thanks to Emily, Jodi, Robin and Martin, Joseph, and Carol for sharing their heart-warming and touching stories with everyone. We enjoyed delicious refreshments and a great view from the Delta Ocean Point Resort and Spa.

Pink Shirt Day

Pink Shirt Day 2013 was tremendously successful! All Boys and Girls Club locations participated in sharing a unified message to end bullying. On Wednesday, we were delighted to have a display at the Westshore Town Centre where we showed films from the 2012 anti-bullying film festival. We are grateful to Hillside Mall for their generous cheque presentation of $1500 raised through the sale of shirts, and store contributions. Our Pink Shirt Day page has all the details you need!

Bayside Christmas Craft Fair

On Thursday December 6th, 2012 our Central Saanich Club co-hosted a craft fair with Bayside Middle School! The proceeds from this event will benefit the programs that are jointly run by our club and the school. It was a great community event and we were glad to see so many of you out there!

Summer BBQs for Community Events

Everyone was delighted to celebrate with our summer wrap-up BBQs in June out at our community clubs.
